OWACA has been in existence since the early 1950’s and was formerly known as the Wilshire-Adams Church Basketball League. For the past 40 years, OWACA has organized a basketball league for young people with church-sponsored teams. The league provides positive interdenominational church-sponsored activities in the South and West Central areas of Los Angeles. Many participating churches have used their teams as an outreach activity to community youth. Sportsmanship is a major theme of the program.
